Service Cancelable Loans in Military Service
If you are interested in pursuing a degree and would like to finance this degree through military service, we have some unique programs to help you reach your goals.
The Georgia Student Finance Commission offers several Military Scholarship Loan Programs, available to individuals who wish to become a career Georgia National Guard member as an officer or as an enlisted individual.
Service cancelable repayment requirements vary with each program listed.
In the event that you do not complete your program of study or do not work in the field that you were awarded, then your scholarship loan will convert to a cash repayment loan and accrue interest and must be repaid in cash installments.

North Georgia College and State University Military Scholarship Loan Program
The North Georgia College and State University Military Scholarship Loan is a full scholarship loan to attend the premier four-year military college of Georgia.
Once you meet all requirements of the military college you are eligible to become commissioned as an Officer in the Georgia National Guard.
To be eligible for service cancellation you must complete a four-year tour of duty in the Georgia Army National Guard after graduation.

Georgia Military College State Service Scholarship Loan Program
The Georgia Military College State Service Scholarship Loan Program is a full scholarship loan to attend the premier two-year military college of Georgia.
Once you have completed your two-year degree, you are eligible to begin your two-year service cancellation by serving in the Georgia National Guard as an enlisted member.
If you wish to complete your four-year degree and become a Commission Officer you may do so, but must serve in the Georgia National Guard for two years after graduation.

Georgia National Guard Service Cancelable Education Loan Program
This program has been suspended for the 2009-2010 academic year.

The Georgia National Guard Service Cancelable Education Loan Program is to provide financial assistance toward the cost of attendance at a Georgia private or public college or university or public post-secondary technical college.
The service cancelable loan will cover resident tuition for all courses for which resident tuition is charged.
You are responsible for all fees, special course fees, student activity and facility fees, assessment fees and others.
To service cancel the obligation of a semester, year or other period of study as determined, graduation, termination or enrollment in school, or termination of this assistance with approval by Georgia Student Finance Commission, shall be canceled in consideration of the student retaining membership in the Georgia National Guard during the period in which the loan was provided.
