Georgia Graduation Requirements

Currently Georgia has two sets of graduation requirements. Which graduation requirements apply to you depends upon the year you entered high school.

If you are graduating between 2009 and 2012, you can learn about your graduation requirements here.

If you are graduating after 2012, you can learn about your graduation requirements here.

Graduation Requirements for Graduating Classes of 2009 to 2012

The chart below represents 5 diploma seals available in your school. Depending on your career choices, you will select one of these seals and take the corresponding classes. Remember, the more training and education one has, the more income potential he/she will have.

Consider the Dual Seal for your choice.

The Dual Seal will prepare you for any level of education you might need to reach your career goal. For example, if you want to be an aerospace engineer, you must complete a four-year degree; therefore, you should take those classes in the College Prep Seal column. However, to better prepare you for your future goal, you can take advantage of the Aviation Operations career pathway or the Engineering pathway. The career pathway classes are located under the Technology/Career Seal. In today's job market, it is extremely important that you choose classes wisely in high school.

Having a clear and concise plan can get you where you want to be much faster. Always be mindful of the labor market trends including demand/growth and wages.

Remember there are other requirements for graduation such as passing the Georgia High School Graduation Test or your local system may require additional units or credits for graduation.
