Earn a 3.0 cumulative grade point average after attempting 30, 60, or 90 semester hours, or 45, 90, or 135 quarter hours of college degree-level credit, regardless of high school graduation status

A student who was not academically eligible for the HOPE Scholarship as an entering college freshman may become eligible for the HOPE Scholarship after attempting 30, 60, or 90 semester hours or 45, 90, or 135 quarter hours of study with a 3.00 cumulative grade point average at the college level.

The college or university you are attending will determine your eligibility after you have attempted the required hours, if the student meets all other eligibility requirements.

A student who has never received HOPE Scholarship payment prior to the Summer term 2011 becomes ineligible for HOPE Scholarship after June 30th of the seventh full year following the student's high school graduation date, home study completion date, GED test date, or date the student stopped pursuing a high school diploma, whichever occurs first, unless the student has been approved for an extension of eligibility based on active duty military service.
