Thank you for applying to OFTC. Please complete the steps below if you have never attended OFTC. If you are a returning or transfer student, some steps may already be satisfied; contact the Admissions Office for more information.

Application Instructions

  • Please fill out the online application as thoroughly as possible. When you are finished, click the 'SUBMIT' button on the left column of any application screen. Print, sign, and mail the application agreement statement with a nonrefundable $20 application fee to the address of your preferred campus below.
  • Submit an official copy of your high school or GED transcript to the Admissions Office. Applicants who have completed a minimum of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours at the degree level may submit official college transcripts in lieu of a high school diploma or GED. Home schooled graduates should contact Admissions Office for documentation needed.
  • Submit an official copy of all postsecondary transcripts for any college/university or technical college attended.
  • Take the placement exam or submit scores no more than 5 years old from one of the following: COMPASS, ASSET, SAT, or ACT.
  • The placement exam may be waived for diploma programs if the applicant can provide official transcripts showing satisfactory completion of appropriate English and math courses with a grade of C or better; has SAT scores of 400 math or 430 critical reading; has ACT scores of 13 reading, 12 English, and 17 math.
  • The placement exam may be waived for degree programs if the applicant can provide official transcripts showing satisfactory completion of appropriate English and math courses with a grade of C or better; has SAT scores of 440 math or 450 critical reading; has ACT scores of 17 reading, 16 English, and 19 math.

Entrance Requirements

  • Admission to Oconee Technical College is not a guarantee of admission to a specific degree, diploma or certificate program.
  • Applicants must be at least 16 year of age or older. The age requirement is higher for most Allied Health programs, Early Childhood Care & Education programs, Cosmetology, and Commercial Truck Driving.
  • A high school diploma or a GED is required for all associate degree and diploma programs and for most certificate programs. Special Education diplomas and Certificates of Attendance are not recognized for admission purposes.

Instructions

To complete this online application, type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the NEXT button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be reentered prior to submittal.
