Application Information

A message from the campus:

Welcome to the online application for the new graduate teacher education degrees offered by University System of Georgia institutions.

Admission for these programs is handled as a Quick Admit process in which acceptance is based upon information supplied in this application. Upon review of your application and determination that you meet the program admission requirements, you will be sent, by email, an acceptance notice and information on how to register for courses.

To expedite the admissions procedures, you will be engaged in a three-step process:

Complete the application form.

Provide accurate and complete information. You may interrupt the process at any time, save the entered information, and resume your application when convenient.

Educate yourself regarding any additional program requirements (if there are any).

Prior to completing the application form, determine whether your program of study requires documents (official transcripts, test scores, or other materials) to be sent directly to the institution in addition to this application form. While receipt of these additional requirements may not prevent you from starting your program of study, you will be expected to supply this information soon. Additional requirements are listed by program below, and if your institution does require additional documentation or interviews, you also will be told what is expected of you in your acceptance acknowledgement. You will not be allowed to register for future terms if you fail to complete any additional requirements within the established timelines.

Additional Program Requirements:

Below are additional requirements by program. Be sure to initiate whatever processes are needed to ensure that the appropriate documents are sent to the office and address provided.

M.Ed. in Accomplished Teaching

Full Admission Ė Must be fulfilled prior to your second term of enrollment.

For Georgia Certified Teachers

1.   Official transcripts from each institution of higher education attended documenting a minimum of a bachelorís degree awarded from a regionally accredited college or university.  Undergraduate GPA will be calculated using all attempted undergraduate coursework, and a minimum GPA of 2.5 is required for full admission.

2.   Must hold a clear and renewable teaching certificate in the State of Georgia.  The certificate will be verified by the Georgia Southern University Graduate Admissions Office prior to full admission review.

3.   A passing score on GACE II or PRAXIS II content test (Georgia standards).  This requirement will be verified prior to full admission review.

For Teachers Certified in Other States

1.   Official transcripts from each institution of higher education attended documenting a minimum of a bachelorís degree awarded from a regionally accredited college or university.  Undergraduate GPA will be calculated using all attempted undergraduate coursework, and a minimum GPA of 2.5 is required for full admission.

2.   Proof of a clear and renewable teaching certificate from the state of origin.  The certificate will be verified by the Georgia Southern University Graduate Admissions Office prior to full admission review.

3.   Documentation of PRAXIS II or GACE II content test scores which meet or exceed the minimum passing score established for the State of Georgia.  This requirement will be verified prior to full admission review.

To complete this online application, type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the NEXT button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen.
