A message from the campus:

If you have ever attended classes at East Georgia State College and have earned grades, then you are required to fill out a Former Student Application and submit to the Registrar's Office.

After submitting your online application, be sure to check your Admissions status online for missing information and testing requirements.

Admissions Process

All New Applicants to EGSC must submit the following:

  • Completed Application for Admission
  • $20 non-refundable Application Fee or Fee Waiver
  • Signed and Completed Immunization Form Adobe Acrobat PDF document
    - Swainsboro and Augusta Campus Immunization Form
    - Statesboro Campus Immunization Form
  • Official High School Transcript showing graduation from an accredited High School w/2.0 minimum GPA (including a Senior schedule)
  • Official GED Scores
  • Georgia High School Graduation Test Scores (if applicable)
  • SAT or ACT scores (if applicable)
  • Official Transcripts from any and all Colleges or Technical Schools attended 
  • Provide validation of Residency and Lawful Presence in both the State of Georgia and the United States (see below)

Verification of Lawful Presence

The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia now requires all applicants to USG institutions to provide proof of Lawful Presence in the United States in order to be classified as In-State for tuition purposes. This change is effective immediately for all applicants for Fall Semester 2011, and subsequent semesters. You must prove lawful presence in the United States in ONE or more of the following ways before you can be admitted as an In-State student:

  • Studentís completed FAFSA for the current financial aid year.
  • Studentís certified copy of your U.S. Birth Certificate showing that he/she was born in the U.S.  or a U.S territory. A photocopy is not acceptable.
  • Copy of studentís Driver's License issued by the State of Georgia on or after January 1, 2008.
  • Copy of studentís ID issued by the State of Georgia on or after January 1, 2008.
  • Copy of a tribal identification card of a federally recognized Native American tribe, provided that it contains a photograph or lists sufficient identifying information regarding the bearer, such as name, date of birth, gender, height, eye color, and address.
  • Copy of studentís U.S. Certificate of Naturalization (USCIS form N-550 or N-570).
  • Copy of studentís U.S. Certificate of Citizenship (USCIS form N-560 or N-561).
  • Copy of studentís Permanent Resident Card or Alien Registration Receipt Card (USCIS form I-151 or I-551)
  • Present studentís current military ID (service member only, not dependent) A photocopy is not acceptable
  • Copy of studentís current U.S. Passport
  • A Merchant Mariner Document or Merchant Mariner Credential issued by the United States Coast Guard.
  • A Free and Secure Trade (FAST) card.
  • A NEXUS card.
  • A Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection (SENTRI) card.
  • A driverís license issued by a Canadian government authority.
  • An Employment Authorization Document that contains a photograph of the bearer.

If you do not provide any of the above documentation, you will be classified an Out of State Student and must pay Out of State tuition and fees. Documentation must be provided no later than the first day of classes. 

Financial Aid Process

Applicants seeking Financial Aid (HOPE, Pell Grants, Loans, etc)  will need to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online at listing East Georgia State College on the application (Federal School Code -- 010997) by the financial aid deadline for the anticipated term of enrollment. Students wishing to receive federal financial aid must be in a degree seeking admission category at East Georgia State College.

Application Process

Once you enter the online application:
1. Click on "Begin New Application to East Georgia State College"
2. Create an account in GAcollege411- just like you would for Yahoo, MSN, etc. Be sure to keep a record of your account information.Othwerise, login to your Ga411 account.
3. Complete the application as thoroughly as possible. If you miss a required field, the application will give you an error message in red at the top of the specific page and not allow you to continue on to the next page.
4. At the end of the application, click the 'SUBMIT' button on the bottom-left hand column on any application screen.

5. Pay the $20 admission application fee. If you are paying via Fee Waiver, Check, Cash or Money Order, please print the application agreement statement that appears after selecting a payment option. You will submit statement along with form of payment.
6. Make sure you receive a confirmation number, if you do not then your application has not been submitted and you must try again.

You will receive an email letting you know that the application was successfully submitted and a letter will be sent via mail. The GAcollege411 application will also keep a running history of the applications visited/submitted. This will help you remember which applications you have submitted and not allow you to submit duplicate applications for the same admission term.

To complete this online application, type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the NEXT button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be reentered prior to submittal.
